Chemical Warehouse Safety

Warehousing is one of the most important parts of a supply chain for any manufacturing industry. This is true for the global chemical industry as well, where a lot of their profitability hinges on the efficient and effective chemical storage of their goods in warehouses. Many chemical industry products are toxic, explosive, flammable or hazardous in other ways. Therefore, personnel who are responsible for  these chemical storage buildings, should be adequately trained in the various safety aspects of hazardous chemicals storage.

A majority of these chemical warehouses may store liquids in chemical storage containers like drums or IBC (International Bulk Containers), solids and powders in bags or other packages. It is important to follow health and safety precautions while storing and handling these chemicals. Hence we should follow globally accepted best practices in the storage and handling of these materials. This course is the fastest way to learn about it.

Self Paced E-learning Course

This training course is a self paced e-learning course that has text, voice narration, animations and simulations , videos and self assessment questions that make you an expert in the subject. It is not a simple Power Point Presentation (PPT) or a Video of a guy speaking. Hence it is engaging for the learners, who are happy to complete the training.

Safe Chemical Warehousing

This Abhisam Safe Chemical Warehousing course enables you to learn all about chemical storage safety and storage of hazardous materials in warehouses. This is very important as storage of chemicals, many of which are toxic, flammable, reactive or hazardous in other ways is a difficult task, if one is not trained in it.

Luckily with this course, you can train your Supervisors and Managers in this area and ensure that your chemical storage buildings (which is what chemical warehouses are actually) remain safe throughout their lifetime. The ignorance of safety standards and regulations, when it comes to warehouse safety can result in tragic consequences, as happened during the recent Tianjin chemical storage warehouse disaster. The exact cause of the accident was never revealed, but it is strongly suspected that the chemical storage in the warehouse was done without any regard to standard safety measures, resulting in a big disaster in which many lives were lost, as well as millions of dollars were lost due to damage to the surrounding area. Even non hazardous goods, such as expensive luxury cars, were damaged simply because one chemical warehouse storage in a nearby location was not upto the mark as far as safety is concerned.

A different Warehouse Safety Course

Many generic “Warehouse Safety” courses cover only the basics of safety in warehouses such as falls, trips and other similar occupational hazards or things like safe driving of forklifts. This is the only course in the world that covers the safe storage and handling of hazardous chemicals in detail. It consists of the following modules:

  1. Basic Concepts of Chemical Warehousing Safety
  2. Hazards
  3. Design and Product Storage
  4. Health, Safety and Environment (HSE) Requirements
  5. Operations and Management
  6. Legal, Security and Emergency Requirements
  7. Self Assessment Test
